For The Fallen in 2020 Commemorative Coin

When I designed this years challenge coins I had two main goals: I wanted to reverently honor the fallen while bringing a message of “hope” and “endure” to our law enforcement officers. On the backside of this coin you will find symbolism that I feel accomplishes those goals.
The mountain backdrop - What else has stood the test of time if not a mountain. In 2020, law enforcement had to endure many challenges and as a result of those tribulations we saw many become discouraged. I want to say to my fellow brothers and sisters in blue, hold on and endure the storm just as the mountains have.
Kneeling St Michael - We have St Michael, who is the patron saint of law enforcement, paying his respects at a fallen officer memorial.
In Valor There Is Hope - A message of hope to those feeling hopeless. This phrase is also found on the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall in DC.
Fields of Green - Greens fields are often a sign of a healthy prosperous harvest ahead.
So to those in law enforcement, I hope this is a reminder to hold on through these hard times, we do have better days ahead. We still have a mission to accomplish and a stronger community to build.
